I have recently gone back on the depo shot for contraception but I don’t get regular periods so was unable to determine where in my cycle I am.
I had the shot on 19th August - when would I be fully protected to have sex? The nurse wasn’t sure so I’m hoping someone here can advise if they’ve had this before.

i think its 7 days but id double check didnt u get a patient leaflet? thats really bad the nurse didnt know. you normally get it during a period but with urs being irreg its hard to know if you want to be really sure wait 28 days from when you last had sex do a preg test then u'll def by then be protected im pretty sure tho its 7 days

No, she didn't give me a leaflet unfortunately. I know once belfore, about a year ago I was told 5 days but I want to be sure.. l'll wait 7 days just to be on the safe side. Thankyou for your advice!
