Depressed and dont know what to do

I've been having gastrointestinal issues for the past 3 months. I was waiting forever for a colonoscopy because my doctor said that would be the gold standard on figuring out what's going on with my stomach, instead I am left with more questions then answers. The stomach issues I am experiencing range from random spasms in my stomach to gassy build up to diarrhea and constipation.

I had my colonoscopy and it came back all clear, no polyps and no abnormalities besides two external hemmeroids. A biopsy was also taken during my colonoscopy and it came back normal. I was ecstatic because I had been worrying about colon cancer.

I figured maybe it was IBS but now my mind is once again racing because the day after my colonoscopy I started to get a bloated feeling on my left side and a tingling sensation in my lower back, I'm not sure if it was worse because I was sitting down and driving or if something else was happening, but this bloating and uncomfortable gassy pressure continued in my mid left side abdomen (the side of my belly) all night until the next morning.

Now I'm worried about my pancreas because I was experiencing the tingling feeling in my back and stomach discomfort, although it definitely seems to come and go. Also the day this left side abdominal discomfort subsided I had two episodes of intense heartburn like pain underneath my right rib, which felt exactly like heartburn although I dont recall having it happen under my ribs ever.

Does this sound like possible pancreatic cancer? as I stated earlier these stomach issues began in late October, and the only pain I've felt is the heartburn like pain and sometimes the gassy build up, which I would describe as very uncomfortable, otherwise I've had the stomach spasms what seems like everywhere in my abdomen. Maybe I'm just going insane? I thought my $3400 colonoscopy would give me answers. What testing can I ask for now that may shed some light on my stomach issues?

thank you and bless you

You are describing typical IBS symptoms! Do not worry at all about anything. I had abdominal pain with bowel habit change, nausea and back pain for three and a half months. I had a different health anxiety every day including pancreatic cancer. I was diagnosed with IBS. Health anxiety is very common. Has your GI specialist not suggested IBS? When numerous tests come back negative, IBS can be diagnosed. IBS is a functional disorder and will not show up on any scan and to diagnose it, it is done on a basis of exclusion. Bloating is an IBS symptom, but after a colonoscopy, you may feel bloated or gassy because air is pumped into your bowel during the procedure. Your doctor should have warned you about this side effect rather than letting you experience this symptom and causing you unnecessary worry. If you were not informed about it, tell your doctor and explain that not being made aware of this complication has caused you intense anxiety.

You can get burning sensations in your stomach and ribcage pain with IBS. Pain under your ribcage can also be a gastritis symptom which can be diagnosed via an endoscopy. However, when you are stressed and worried, gut problems like IBS and gastritis will feel much worse. None of my tests gave me any answers and so I experienced intense frustration and disappointment when time and time again, I was not diagnosed.

Go back to your doctor and ask about IBS and gastritis. Do not google your symptoms because it will make you panic.
