I had recurrent problems with urine frequency sometimes with an infection and sometimes with no infection, I also had none visible blood in my urine. I had an ultrasound scan (not CT) which did not show anything so I had a cystoscopy. I was terrified about going for the cystoscopy and what it would show and almost cancelled the appointment. The cystoscopy was NOT painful and was over in less than five minutes, I was told the result there and then and fortunately there was nothing seriously wrong.  The Consultant Urologist told me that some ladies do have none visible blood in their urine but when a cystoscopy does not  show anything he was not concerned. I was prescribed medication for my over active bladder symptoms and low dose antibiotic which I take every evening. It has been several months since I started the medication and I have had a couple of check ups when my urine tests came back crystal clear with no sign of blood or infection.  I will be on the medication long term.

You need to have the tests done to get the correct diagnosis and treatment. I cannot comment on having a CT scan because I haven’t had one but please don’t worry about the cystoscopy - the worry is worse than the cystoscopy.

Take care of yourself and keep in touch.

Thanks Lynn, your comment really helped alleviate my anxiety.  Yes I definitely think I need to take all the testing because I'm pretty sure I will feel worst if I didn't. I will let you know how all turns out. Thanks and take care.

You must try not to worry, difficult though that might be, it actually does not help anything and least of all u. It is much better to have a test to see what it might be, and no doubt they want to do it as a precaution. A CT scan is not invasive, and a cystocopy, although invasive is very quick and they will make u as comfortable as possible. The urethra is very short in a woman, much shorter than a man, so they can just make sure there is nothing there or in yr bladder. Pls don't worry, I am sure the hospital will guide you every step of the way. I hope this allays yr fears in the short term anyway. Hope all goes well.

Maria, I understand your concern.  I  had blood in my urine a few years ago.  As it turned out, it was a bladder stone that was causing the bleeding.  The stone, bumps around in the bladder, causing the bladder to bleed. If you are concerned like me that it could be cancer, the odds are in your favor, that it is not.  If you are over 40 years of age, your chances of having it be bladder cancer is only 10%.  If you are under the age of 40, your chances of it being cancer, goes way down to 1%.  Good luck!

Hi Derek, I am 44 so that leaves me at 10%. Did u feel pain when u had the stones? Thanks for the good thoughts.

I don't recall any pain.  Just that when I went to urinate, I had blood in my urine.  It scared me a lot the first time I saw it! I was thinking this can't be good...could it be bladder cancer?  As it turned out, it was bladder stones...what a relief.  Pretty quick surgery.  Didn't even had to stay in the hospital.  The uro, removed the stones, by blasting it with a laser, sucked it out with some kind of device and then released me to go home.

Oh wow. Well I am glad everything worked out for the best. Not sure what my issue is but time will tell. Take care.

Hi Maria: I know how you feel. I went through that about 15 years ago. It is common for blood to go away after awhile. Mine just stopped and there was nothing wrong. What you’re having done is standard procedure.

Thanks Cheryl I just can't wait to get all this over with. I also feel better knowing that I am not the only one going through this. Thanks.

I am going through the same thing! I’ve had a ct scan of kidneys and bladder which came back normal but my go has booked me an appointment for 5 April with the urologist to make sure as had blood in 3 urine samples now.

I like you am stressed and anxious 😳

Pls don't worry. Yr CT scan and kidney scan you say came back as normal. There is no point worrying about the next appointment on the 5th because there could be lots of reasons for having blood in yr urine. It is good that u have an appointment with a urologist just to double check things and it may well turn out to be nothing, or u may have a UTI, but don't try and second guess and don't over stress because that is unhelpful for u. If there is a little something there I am sure they can deal with it, but pls don't worry in advance. Good luck.

I have been having pelvic pain also so I’m convinced it’s bladder cancer.

I think you are find especially after CT scan. That is pretty much what the urologist does. The only thing he might add is the cystoscopy. However I don't know why they would do it u already had your bladder looked at. I think you should rule out everything. I think it's more worries when u don't. I will keep u updated with mines. Take care. I am also feeling your anxiety scared to death.
