hey guys my result came back as equivocal or inconclusive for HSV 2 (see attached it is 0.94)...im really worried about this because ive only slept with my current boyfriend for the past 6 months, and he was a virgin prior to me. I didn't cheat on him or anything. The testing center said to get it tested again in 4-6 weeks. I am confused with this result, as an equivocal number means i could have recently been infected, which does not make sense as my boyfriend was a virgin.

help im depressed right now and seriously worried my boyfriend will leave me and no other guy will want me 😦

u should be retested in 4/6 weeks for hsv 2 as its neither positive or negative

your results not high enough to be positive but its not low enough to be negative either it could be false which is why they retest

You can have hsv2 igg test again after 6 weeks or so. My hsv 2 igg test after 4 months of my last sexual act came equivocal 0.92, then i repeated the test after 2 months it came out negative 0.52 thankfully

i have had something similar happen to me. i got equivocal results at .94 with the igm test. i had then retested 6 weeks later (this time with the igg test) and showed up negative for both hsv 1 and 2. I have since had the test repeated 3 times for peace of mine. Bottom line, dont sweat it. Retest in 6 weeks, and go from there. Goodluck!
