    What a lot of medication!!

Has your Vitamin B12 , a full anaemia screening and Vitamin D levels been checked?

If you can persuade your dr to check these then post the results on here that would be very helpful.

If not you could have them done privately if you canafford that that is.

Sometimes neuropathic or nerve pain can be caused by vitamin andmineral deficiencies.

Please do not take ny Vit B12 supplements before getting the B12 level checked as this will skew the B12 results.

I started to write a post to you but it vanished! Anyway, you would think the morphine would take away most of the pain! Most of the doctors in the States give out anti depressants thinking those will help rid the pain but it doesn't for me. In fact it makes the pain much worse. I have told my doctor this but he keeps trying different ones. I have been on Celexa, Lyrica, Cymbalta and Elavil. I have asked him about something like? Marinol or something similar but he says they are too addicting! Doctors here stink!! My neurologist geve me Carbitrol which helped for about a week but that was it. Sometimes the pain is so bad i feel like cutting my feet off!!

I wish i could help but i am at a loss also but good luck...

As other have said, that's a lot of meds you are taking! My personal experience with nerve pain is that opioids are not good for relief of nerve pain and actually makes it feel worse than it actually is. Gapapentine is a nerve pain med so your best med is this one, the others may be making the pain worse. B12 will not control the pain. You need to find out what is causing the nerve pain(nerve damage). B12 may or may not be the cause. My nerve damage was caused by gout, arthritis and bone damage to my feet.

i was on 60mg of morphine a day for about a year and had to stop taking it because it got to the point that i could not walk and ended up in the hospital. This is when i found out what was causing the nerve damage/ pain. I am now on very minor meds with the pain still there but manageable.

Yes and apparently the doctors do not know what is causing my pain which is peripheral neuropathy which was a side effect from Harvoni from when i took that 20 months ago to get rid of Hep C. i was not a high risk patient with the Hep C but was coerced into taking that drug which led me to getting that neuropathy. Either way I do agree that there should be more research into finding a cure for it instead of opiods as they do cause addiction an that is a big problem in the US right now so that is why so many doctors are prescribing alternate drugs such as anti depressants which do not help either.

Try accupuncture or reflexology for some relief all of those drugs I have been on they did no help but gave me more side affects and I feel like cutting my tongue off and get very depressed. I am seeking new treatments and possible suregeries and if anyone has any advice out there please let me know. All from having my wisdom teeth removed I have paralysis and constant burning nerve pain its terrible. hang in there.

Chan1973, I can relate to pain entirely. I too suffer from Peripheral Neuropathy and take 2400mg of Neurontin a day. Along with Opana ER and Oxycodone. My opinion is the Opana ER works for the leg and feet pain that I suffer from. I would suggest that you see a pain clinic physician as they are your best option to receive medication for pain.
