depression

My experience of sinusitus is debilitating and depressive. Its been a year since it started and after 6 courses of anti biotics(different doctors typical response 'i want you to try this anti biotic to see if this works) I had an operation which certainly has not solved the problem. I get typical symptoms which I experience as severe, every other week. I am in danger of a spiral of depression since there appears no adequate answer. My consultant appears nonplussed!

Poor you Mikem, I get sinisitus from time to time and overload on sudafed, Its the only thing htat works for me, (even on these you have to let them build up in your system If you forget to take one , your back to square 1) . Well, that what i ve found. I remeber it well, every footstep was very painful . In fact i would put it up there with the pain of a svere but permament migraine. But iam no expert. (Obviously)

My mums friend suffered from this really badly and it not unlike youmade her depressed, so she went back to the doc and was prescribed an anti depressant with pain relief, and that has helped her manage her daily life. My mum is on it to I think its an anti psychotic , amtryptiline or something? You could always ask ......your symptoms could be related due to depression , instead of the other way round. ( Like isay i am no expert I just like rambling. But take care, I hope I have helped. If not i hope someone can hep you and make life more manageable.

I have suffered since July. Had nothing like it in all my 72 years of life and have no idea why it came. Tried inhaling steam for 20 minutes 3 times daily plus a course of sudafed. Got a little relief but no cure. 5 days of antibiotics didn't make any difference whatsoever. Nasal spray given by the doctor Nasobec Aqueous a corticosteroid gives a lot of relief for a couple of days at a time and the problems come and go. Doctor said I should continue the spray for a few months. I was also very depressed when the problem began but at least now I have a few days respite and am hoping I can cope with it. I intend asking the pharmacist more details about this spray

I have just discovered that I get a bad attack after alcohol. I have enjoyed a glass of wine with my Sunday Roast and after 3 weeks have discovered that soon after the meal, my sinusitis begins and is so bad I cannot lie down to sleep. I did not have any wine this weekend and no problem. I still spray but a decreased dose.
