depression/anxiety problem

I'm currently on fluoxetine 2x20mg a day there not helping any more and at the weekend MMy ex partner battered me etc .... I'm having trouble sleeping any odds but because of that it is even worse and anxiety is through the roof what are people's opinions on stronger meds that will help me relax x

    I think that you need to talk to your Dr. About some kind of change in medication. If it isn't working, then what good is it? Right?

    pardon my french but what do you mean your partner battered you?

    do you mean beat you up?

    If that is the case I would urge that you go to the police and remove your self from that toxic environment

    Sorry. i answered your question but failed to address the battering situaton. Do not ever allow this to happen again. Do wha ever you need to do to protect yourself. That isby far a greter concern than your meds. Get rid of that toxic person in your life and you may not need a med change or maybe meds at all. Good for lea1207 for picking that up immediately. I lived in that situation for years and it will only get worse and will steal your soul and possibly your life. Assuming battered means physical abuse.

      I agree 100% with what you saty.

      leigh you need to stay away from that ex of yours. you dont need that added stress. Go to the police, you dont deserve to be hit by anyone. you are worth more than that.

    Dear Leigh, please go to see your doctor as soon as you can, you don't need to feel like this..explain your situation fully to your GP, ( also about the abuse from your ex partner ) also if you are able to, call the police about the assault.... you need help and good support in your depression and also your situation.. have you any family or good friends that you can turn to ?     Thanks everybody been back to doctors put me on matrazipine or how ever u spell It X I have already rang police ex not aloud near me or kidsx

    Hi leigh,

    have you got a local womens aid? you may have been told abou tit already..They do some good courses; "the freedom programme" is good for female victims of domestic abuse. The can help advise you on other issues too.
