Iv tried to get off citroplam but have had to start taking it again last night , iv been without it for 2 weeks as i weaned my self off over 1 month , felt great at first but i havnt slept at all again its horrible specially the eye zapping , jitters , total insomnia , mood swings specially low moods (where i think im worthless and everyone would be better off if i were dead) This is not me im a happy person in a good relationship , i had family problems 2 years ago and never got over losing my parents 6 weeks apart so the doctor gave me Citroplam , he forgot to control them and just lept on giving me them stonger and stronger, i went and told him i thought the tablets were not working so he told me to wean myself off these and gave me other one to take called sertraline 50mg , when i weaned myself of the cit ithought i didnt need tablets so i didnt take the the sertraline but now the withdrawl symstoms are horrible and im very tempted as i need to get my mojo and life back dose anybody know about these tablets

      Hi Nikki

It will be worth it in the end , sleeping is my worst problem and the mood swings and feeling low , i think we have to get our own lifes back by putting up with the withdrawls, every day we need to say to ourselves tommorow is a new day and 1 day closer to the withdrawls ending. x

Hi Tracey, you seem to be having a bad time of it.  I have been taking cit for a long time, and don't have any side effects.  What do you mean by eye zapping?  It was a heavy dose of cit you were on, perhaps you should go back to your doc and tell him how you are feeling. You have been through so much, losing your parents, it must be dreadful for you.  I do hope that you get your mojo back and get the right meds to help you.  Take care x

      Hi Wagner

No i was only on 30mg i started on 10mg then over 2 years it went up and up ,eye zapping maybe the wrong word to use , its like my eyes are have little elctical shocks if i moved them quickly , also specially on a night time my skin on my arms feels like the nerves are all tingling , (im not mad promise) i think the doctors are too busy to listen and even if i did go freightend theyll give me somthing eles to try x

Tracey that is a crazy high dose 50mg,  i was on 20 and i halfed it to 10 and that was strong enough for me.  I am now on Remeron,  its calmer and helps me sleep.  Celexa made me a big nervous,it did work but i was a bit hyper on it.  so see what you think,  taking too much medication is not good either.

    Thanks

      Hi Deborah

Thanks for replying i havnt tried the tablets yet as i thought 50mg was a lot , these tablets came off a locom doctor who didnt even know about my problems she just handed them out like sweets, so that worried me , i think if i could get sleep i would be stronger to fight these withdrawels but holding a full time job down it is very difficult although i am doing just that , i think my doctor needs to understand the insomnia is my major problem (proberly causing my depression) but the doctors dont know what to do about insomnia apart from giving me Zopliclone or other sleeping tablets , covering up the fact iv got a problem to solve not cover upxx

    Hi Tracey

Definitely go back to your doctor and tell him about your insomnia Also ask about inositol it is natural and supposed to be good for both anxiety and insomnia I can't recommend it as I don't want to combine anything while I am on cit but look up inositol on the internet and then ask your doctor about it

We all know how you are feeling and so don't feel alone Just hope this works for you keep in touch
