File size is too bighad this patch of rough/scaly skin on my thumb for almost a week now. recently started new dishwashing job so maybe cause of soap? also burned with chemicals years ago also as a dishwasher. File size is too big

Sounds like it. Can you wear gloves? You will benefit from 1% hydrocortisone cream for a week.

Aceman has got the right idea. Wear gloves and also use a 1% hydrocortisone cream for a week followed by ordinary hand cream at night. You may have dry skin,so have to look after it.
