Dermoids

Just wondering..for those of you who have/had dermoid cysts, how fast did they grow, and were they damaging your ovary?

    Hi,mine grew slowly but steadily.My Ovaries were taken over by them.I had one 10cm Dermoid and Ovary/fallopian removed in 2012.Just recently I had my right Ovary removed due to another 10cm Dermoid/Germ Cell cyst.

    Generally mine grew 1/2 cm a month.My Ovaries were both badly damaged.Im 46 so my fertility wasn't an issue. If you're younger the surgeons can do alot and you don't always lose the Ovary so please don't worry.

    Every case is unique.

    Dermoid cysts grow very slowly - on average 1.8mm a year. I had mine for 2 years and it's grown 4mm.

    accidental 3cm cyst finding

    after 1 year 5cm cyst same location,

    after 2 years 9cm cyst same location - removal/histology: dermoid cyst/teratoma

    So grew slowly in my case.
