Describe a vertigo attack

I’m newly diagnosed and just found this for him today. Already I do not feel quite as a loan. I would be interested in hearing the symptoms of other peoples vertigo attacks. With some of you be willing to describe what happens?

You could be sitting on the couch as I was just looking down at your laptop and you feel like something has just slammed into you and your head goes to the side and then everything spins and you find yourself hanging on to the couch for dear life. I then have to sit staring at a point in the room until it stops spinning . This could be followed by a bout of horrendous vomiting but that only happened in the first couple of months. Not pleasant but I try to stay calm now as more than two years down the line I feel a bit more confident and recognise some of the triggers. I too find the Forum good and not so alone now.

Hi candy... I was diagnosed 9 years ago and have got the late stages of meniere's. When 1st diagnosed I would have vertigo attacks about 1 every 2/3 months. I stayed in bed and rested but for afew days I felt giddy when moving head and tied, nausea, beginning of attack would mix words up and feel unwell. the meniere's got worse over the years, symptoms from the after effects lasted longer, sometimes upto 16 weeks. The tinnitus which only happened when having an attack together with the fullness of hear in the beginning, is now constant with hearing loss now in both ears. Had 2 hearing aids fitted a couple of days ago. I'm constantly giddy, falling feeling nausea and movement around me causing me to stumble. BUT I'M UNDER A LOT OF STRESS AND PRESSURE due to on-going family problems, help/support needed by adult daughters. I do believe that all the constant stress caused the meniere's to get so bad. So Pls DON'T let my story make you afraid. My problems with my daughters are severe. Read others stories and you'll notice that not very many have ended up as bad as this. I have read that it can burn itself out..I do hope so, keeping fingers crossed😂😂😂. If you are in the uk the Meniere's Society have great advice on their website and offer a helpline. All the best.
