Desperate for advice.

Hi all,

following a breakdown in July i spent two months of the doctor trying different things, propranolol, signed off work etc. unfortunately work decided i was not fit for work and terminated my contact, this made things worse, a week last thursday the doctor put me on Sertraline with diazapam as a back up. I started on 50 mg of sertraline and my morning anxiety went away, my intrusive thoughts disappeared and i felr better in general, with a couple of bad hours.

After 1 week the doctor had told me to increase the dose to 100 mg, i did as requested and two days later i was crippled by anxiety and low moods, these have stayed with me for three days now and i am back to staying in bed room all day (safe place). my question is should i struggle through and keep on the 100mg, or go back to the 50mg ?? Is it the increased dosage kicking in or is sertraline not right for me ?

So scared i wont every feel normal again, intrusive thoughts back and feel as low as ever.

help ?

sounds like side effects to me which can last for a few weeks whenever you first start or increase. maybe ask your doctor if you can go on 75mg so its not quite so bad ?
