Desperately looking for some help with a leaky lower oesophagus

I'm posting this for my partner who has been suffering from apparently a lax lower oesophagus valve. I think this may be brought on by the stress of losing his mum earlier this year. This diagnosis was after a camera down the throat.

He's seen a few doctors and a specialist but has hit a dead end and his next appointment on the NHS is 64 weeks away so I thought I'd look here and see if anyone has found a good way to manage it.

Like a lot of you he was put on Omeprazole for a couple of months which hasn't really helped and also seemed to give him bad laryngitis at the same time. His throat as win agony. He sleeps in bed with a wedge pillow but is constantly having to burp especially after eating because of this leaky valve. He says they're wet burps and he can feel the fluid coming up and down each time.

I wondered if any of you had found a good way of relieving this and if you would kindly share that with me and he can give it a go.

He has a very good diet, but nothing seems to help short of surgery which would be a year away anyway. If there's anything anyone could suggest I'd be so grateful.
