for some time now I have been getting chest pains in the middle of my chest that go though to the back and onto the right side and felling sick some times being sick, these last for 5-6hours then the next day they still there but not as bad, it hurts in the middle of my chest to breath in deep, my doctor had said it was reflux but after some blood test I had very high lft results and a scan revealed I had 1  large gallstone after a couple of weeks my liver results are almost back to normal, but last night the pain returned and I was up for 5-6 hours with the pain and again today the pain is still in the back ground and it hurts in centre of chest to take a deep breath. Very confused and not sure what to do still under the doctor but he seems to just won't to wait, he's not sure is this reflux or gallstones or something else I am so tired any help would be great is there anyone with these symptom or can offer any help

It sounds like gallbladder problems to me. He should have sent you for a scan. The only solution for this is to remove the gallbladder. I'm getting my results on Tuesday and only then will I know if I need an op or not. Scared out of mind. I'm sure you are too. I hope your doctor does something quickly so as it ensure your health. All the best.

Charlotte so sorry you ended up in hospital love but at least you can get it all sorted out now. xxx

Charlotte tell your GP your not satisfied and want another scan and then you need to ask to be referred to see a Gastroenterologist, I know it sounds scary but if you aren't firm with your GP he will just keep trying all sorts of remedies and in the end he will refer you, so to cut short all that twaddle, tell him dont ask him that you want a referral lovely. Let me know how you get on xxxxx

Try going totally fat free for a couple of weeks,  this will give you a very good idea if it is a gall stone that is causing a blockage and the severe pain.  Before I had my gall bladder removed I had to go fat free  for six weeks as I had to wait for my surgeon to return from abroad, as soon as I ate somehting fatty I was on the floor in pain...lost two stone too which was a bonus! This is a very good indicator. The one thing you don't want is pancreatitis which you can get from gall bladder problems, see link:

I don't get much pain. Just a dull ache. When I eat fatty things however my body goes haywire and I cannot seem to breathe. Also no matter what I eat I'm extremely gassy. but it's not the same for everyone. Charlotte just don't leave this alone. Go to the GP and insist on procedures that you feel are needed.

If you have had scan which revealed gallstone I would say this was your problem. I would get yourself on a waiting list to have your gallbladder removed

Hope this settles down for you

    Praying for you

Sorry to hear you are so poorly. Atleast now you know what is going to happen. Hope the pain eases and you can get operation soon then start to recover from all this.

      Remembering you in my prayers

Keep in touch when you feel a bit better

    Hi Charlotte

If you have got a gallstone you need referring to a gastroenterologist/surgeon for removal of the gallbladder  - the pain can be excruciating and recurrent as many on this forum will testify to including myself.  If you're in the UK you will have quite a wait before you would be able to see a specialists and then a further waiting for surgery so it can be a lengthy process due to the horrendous waiting lists.   Better to ask your GP for a referral as soon as possible to get things moving and keep your suffering to a minimum.

    Best wishes

ask your doc to give you a referral to a gastroenterologist right away. They will order tests and possibly give you meds to help. Best wishes
