desperation

Hi guys,

I've had abdominal pain for years, had tests for various things, the doctor finally ordered blood tests which have all come back normal! Everytime i eat anything with even a sniff of wheat or gluten i am in agony and look 6 months pregnant due to bloating. I have the worst constipation imaginable, itchy skin and also areas of my skin that are lighter than the rest of my body. I have the worst fatigue and find myself napping fequently.

I have bene refferd to gastro and im desperate to be taken seriously. I cannot live the rest of my life like this. Have any of you seen a gastroenterologist that is willing to diagnose without the biopsy? The thought of this terrifies me!!

Thanks

Please get your self checked properly as it seems really serious. it can also be due fluid accumulation in the stomach

Of course I wouldn't go on holiday to a scoping suite but a Gastroscopy isn't that bad and the biopsies are completely painless (a sharp tug at most) smile

I agree with Benny. The gastroscopy/endoscopy really isn't that bad. You should be offered a choice of sedation or a spray to numb your throat when they put the camera down. I had mine without sedation and it *really* wasn't that bad. It is over quite quickly (the whole procedure shouldn't take more than about 10-20mins) and it is *much* better than the daily pain and horror that it sounds like you're experiencing!
