My husband had surgery for a detached retina three weeks ago.  During the surgery he had a bubble of gas put in his eye to keep the retina in place. As the gas bubble got smaller his vision improved.  He is still a bit unsteady on his feet and can only read or watch TV for short periods and is not allowed to drive and is off work. He is due for a check up next week. There are different types of detached retina surgery and everyone's recovery and outcome if different.  I wish you all the best for the future. Take care.
