dexa scan results given with wrong sex - are density measurements still valid?

The results I have from my dxa scan are : l2-l4 1.047 gr/cm2, T-Score -0.03; femoral 0.8355 gr/cm2, T-Score -0.04.

I noted from the graphs given with the results that my sex had be given (incorrectly) as female. I informed the center and they say they will redo the scan. I understand that the T-Score uses average population values based upon sex, so will be wrong.

I would like to know if the density measurements are affected by sex (eg femoral 0.8355 gr/cm2), If they are not then I will not bother with redoing the scan. (The online risk assessment software can use either T-Scores or density measurements ).

I am not an expert, but I would guess that men generally have bigger bones compared  to women and the dexa scan would reflect this. The fact that they said that they will redo the scan also seems to imply this, otherwise they could have told you to ignore the mistake.
