DHS recovery time and sleeping

Hi had an accident dancing on a table and slipped when getting off it at a well known venue that let's you dance on the tables.
This was 4.5 weeks ago. This was a DHS , 5 screws and a plate to repair.
I was't told still young 8 weeks till could go back work, issue is, I was not given any physio, no instructions, just kicked out the door. Consultant was extremely happy with the work so no fracture clinic visit.
I can see that on a hip replacement suppose to sleep on your back, but nothing about a DHS.
Looking on the internet there a lot of contradictions about sleeping positions for hip replacement.
I've been laying on my front and sides, no issues, only scare possibly rubbing so wear baggy shorts and PJ bottoms to cut down friction. But know started sleeping on back or trying seems to cause issues in leg.
I've managed to find some simple exercises to do, so that should help.
Just want to hear other peoples advice. Have contacted the Consultant but he is on holiday

Sorry but couldn't help laughing 😂 but the consequences are bad eh? What is a DHS? You are advised to sleep on your back because of danger of dislocation what advice was given at the hospital?

Hip replacement is different in many ways than repairing a fracture. Where is the fracture located? You have a good head start with healing YOUNGER AGE!
Many hippies struggle with having joint removed and implants to replace diseased socket. The femoral bone is reamed out to the size of the implant and the joint is dislocated to place the implant inside the femor. See on YouTube .many animations are best to watch for better understanding of the mechanics of the process.
Fractures can heal within 6 weeks and screws with help with the bone stability . For suggestions on exercises keep core muscles strong. Squeeze the glute muscles and tighten tummy can keep the back and core muscles in good condition while going thru the healing process. Start with 10 reps 3-4 x’s A day work up to 35reps. Swimming great stabilizer while improving muscle memory and strength.Also diet is important. Protien shakes and 2200 calories a day are recommended for helping the body to heal.stay away from sugars can cause swelling. Ice and rest when tired.
sleeping on back is for posterior approach surgery to remove the socket and replace with new socket. The reasoning for the sleeping position is so the bone can grow onto the implants and stabilize the components.and many movement restrictions are also recommended for posterior approach to prevent dislocation of the joint for the first 6 -12 weeks until the joint is stabilized.
what are you able to Do? Walking is the best exercise and I would guess than lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk could be ok if it’s hurts don’t lift. Have you any pain with muscle or soft tissue injury? There are many YouTube therapists that can address your particular condition. Are you on any pain meds? Should be ok 👍!
i have had two THR and one revision and each one had its recovery issues. Time and patience is the best for healing. When you can contact the surgeon or assistant ask about physical therapy for your particular circumstance.
