I have heard various people saying that diabetes does not start for individuals at advanced ages. Any views?

IMHO, opposite is true.
Before the type of diabetes were labeled as type one and two, the type two was referred to as a maturity on set diabetes

Wrong in my case, though it depends on how "advanced" you mean, LOL.

  Actually I heard these remarks from quite a few people that individuals above 70-75 do not get diabetes if they were ok till then. Anyway such remarks cannot be correct 100% though there may be some truth about it.
