    Hi Cathy.

You've had it even longer than me (23 years) but mine was diagnosed back in 1988 and I've had quite a few operations and tried all sorts of antibiotics.

I've found that when I get an outbreak, a 2 week course of a penicillin type antibiotic (Amoxycillin etc) to zap it, followed by 3 - 6 months of Tetracycline, can keep it under control although not heal it completely.

I hope the Lymcycline is working for you.

Hi Cathy- I have been on lymecycline for about six months and the results have been good. don't expect it to work straight away though-it took 4-6 weeks for me to see a difference. Then my dermatologist told me to stop taking them recently and two weeks later I am off work and in agony again! My GP has started me back on them again today and I hope they work a little faster this time. Good luck. x

I have been on nearly every antibiotic out there and they dont help.

I went to an awesome surgeon today and he said they dont work at all. All it does is stop the pus forming whilst you are taking the tablets, but as you stop them the pus starts. The antibiotics cant help the actual blockage so they can only temporarily relieve the pain

    Hello all

I agree that antibiotics do not solve the problem. They may, for some people, offer a [b:69fa30d0f7]temporary[/b:69fa30d0f7] and [b:69fa30d0f7]limited[/b:69fa30d0f7] relief, but they are NOT A CURE.

And I think that, compared to the damage you can do to your immune system with long-term, high-dosage antibiotics, the results are pretty

    negligible.

    I stay clear of antibiotics.

    love and blessings
