Diagnosed with a megacolon and poor anal tissue, help!!

Posted , 3 users are following.

Recently was diagnosed with a megacolon and poor anal tissue via a colonoscopy. I recently had to move away from the specialist i was seeing so i am back at the bottom of the pile it seems.

I found that lactulose helped me go to the toilet, but then it stopped working. I have used supposotries but they dont really help as it seems i dont have an impaction which i have had previously.

Anyone have any suggestions on medicine i should try to help move my faeces along my colon? I used to use laxido and that worked, so i may try it again. I've not eaten properly for about 9 months and im sick of it and is very embarrassing.

I'm seeing my GP again soon, and im going to try get them to prescribe me laxido+lactulose again and im gonna try them both in high amounts to see if they work.

Other than that i am really stuck, and need to see a specialist/surgeon again who i can discuss my colonoscopy results with properly.

Any help would be appreciated (what direction i should go in) and anyone who has had similar problems would love if you could chime in thank you smile

    Hi,

    What you should do:

First, find the movie "intouchable". That should help you to look on your problem differently. Worries don't help you.

Second, do your stomach want and like. Try to solve the problem by nature products consuming. You can try nopal juis if it's available, dragon fruit, apricots, sour cabige, sour milk, Google what else.

Third, use medicine if your doctor will prescribe.

Some people use enema to clean up he stomach. Every 3 days to clean the bowl.

Be smart and calm. That is my advice. If you need more information, you can ask.

Just saw in internet about megacolon. I would recommend listen to the doctor.

Also could you please describe what type of diagnosis you made...

Hi, thank you for replying so quick. Well I came to the judgement because that is what the results were of the colonoscopy that I have megacolon and poor anal tissue. Today I am hoping to go to the doctor, and try and get them to represcribe me laxido. But at the moment, it kind of seems my problem is beyond GP help, as they referred me on to hospital for this test etc, and then I had to leave that specialist because I'm a student and was living at home at the time.

Lactulose helped a bit for a while, do you know any laxative like Lactulose that works better? Is laxido a better laxative than Lactulose? Is there a specific laxative I should ask for at the doctors? Thank you.

After decades of constipation, and never having the urge to go to the loo, I have found that eating soup and salads -and increasing my intake of olive oil - has helped for most of the time.  A tablespoon of olive oil at nighttime also helps when things start to clog up again.
