i have been signed off work for the last 7 weeks due to a horrific constant headache. After a mri scan last week iv been diagnosed with cervical spondylosis.I have read alot of the posted articles and dont have many of the sypmtoms described by many of you, (numbness and tingling), but have had a chronic headache. Thought to be tension headache initially by doctors i can only describe it as having a balloon blowing up in size under the top and front of my head whilst it being crushed in a vice.iv had very little concentration due to the pain and cannot hold a thought in my head.Obviously its been a horrible experience and i was convinced i had something very sinister going on.im waiting to see a specialist in 4 weeks and am just starting a course of diclofenic and consulting my physio tomorow.has anyone else had these type of symptoms prior to being diagnosed and has anything you done helped?many thanks for any reply

Your post was posted a year ago.  How are you now?  By MRI, I was confirmed to cervical spondolysis.  I have a medical history of MS and chronic migraine.  My migraines continue, but recently I have had (within the last 2 months) an almost daily headache located diffusely over my forehead and back skull area.  I, too, was placed on diclofenac, which I use topically over my neck and shoulders.  I was recommended to have an epidural steroid injection in that area but have been reluctant due to the bone loss that can occur.  Nothing seems to abate the pain, and I have been pretty much restricted to my home due to the lack of cognition and pain.  Please let me know if any treatment has worked for you.  I hope you are better!

What has helped me is to,learn my triggers for headaches which often come with CS.

Take an over-the-counter pain reliever, such as acetaminophen or an anti-inflammatory drugs

Use a heating pad or a cold pack on your neck to provide pain relief for sore muscles.

Exercise regularly to help you recover faster. Slowly.

Wear a soft neck brace or collar to get temporary relief. However, you shouldn’t wear a neck brace or collar for long periods of time because that can make your muscles weaker.and always sleep with neck support . No lifting heavy objects air twisting to fast.
