Hello, 2 yrs ago I had kidney stone surgery, the stone was stuck in my utrer. When I woke up the Dr. swung in my room briefly saying oh by the way, you have Cirrhosis. I was so doped up from surgery, I thought I was hallucinating. I replied back, "what" and the nurse went & got him, He told me he could get me a referral to a specialist. He had seen it on the hospital ultra-sound. The specialist took many tests and learned it was caused by Hep C. Continue next post

Since then I have lost my insurance. I moved to Texas, in the US and have been unable to see a specialist now. I have gone through many symptoms, red palms, leisons around my mouth, neck & chest, my nails are white, I had a spell where I was falling down and bruising profusely and it would take over 6 months for the bruising to go away. I shake really bad, my stomach 3x the size, my spleen has enlarged and I'm in alot of pain. Pressure on my kidney's and my right side is killing me. I'm watching my salt in take and only eat fish or chicken and vegtables and I only eat once a day. I had gone through a divorce, but when I was diagnosed with Cirrhosis my exhusband agreed he'd take care of me as I walk through this trial of my life. The federal government has deemed me "permantely disabled" yet because of the divorce they claim I got a settlement from my exhusband and I didn't. We agreed if I was moving back in, i'd forgo my settlement/my share of equity in the house and I rent a room and pay for my own food. So I am facing dealing with the government until I can get some kind of insurance, the doctors here will not see me untill I have insurance. I've gone to the ER but they do nothing but testing and send you home. I'm worried, I'm scared, I'm depressed and I too feel like I'm just waiting to die.

Where does ER send your test results to? Usually it is to your gp, if you tell them you have one. I am Australian, so I don't know the ins and outs of US medical 'care'. I know being so sick it is hard activate yourself too. But you must seek out help/talk to as many organisations/charities that may exist, to get what assistance there is available. While you may have no idea, they will.
Lots of good luck
