I got diagnosed with hsv2. I went to see a gynocologist to get a full STD check. I was convinced everything would come out fine but somehow got diagnosed with hsv2. I have only had one partner and he took the Igg test which came back negative for both hsv 1 & 2. so my doctor suggested for my mom to get tested. she also came back negative. Ive never had sores nor have I ever expeirenced my first outbreak. Im devastated, frustraded, and confused because i dont understand how I have this. I have never hooked up with anyone or done anything of the sort. I have never been sexually abused either. I had the igg test done twice and they both came back postive. Im so confused ..... could there be anything that could trigger a false postive? None of it makes sense.

Herpes isnt typically in the blood, its a nerve infection. Unless youve had an western blot or been swabbed, the rest of the tests arent really reliable. Some people have a protein in their body that trips up the igg test (the reason is unknown as well as the protein being unknown) and they only look for a 1-4 proteins to conclude herpes when in actuality they should look for 16 such as the western blot to make it conclusive. Given your history its most likely to be a false positive and it will continue to give you positives since your body is tripping up the test.
