Diagnosed with pityriasis rosea :-(

Hello everyone
I've been diagnosed with PR. I've had the herald patch for 2 weeks now. And the rest of the rash has started. I have it everywhere other than the soles of my feet and my face. Every pore seems to be a raised lump.....Whilst some have turned into mini patches....will all these lumps eventually turn into lesions?
I'm covered :-(
Feeling uncomfortable now......and dry. ....even though I'm moisturising (dermol cream)
I've never had it before. In certain light I look like freddy crugar :-(
I've been really tired for 2 months prior to this....I wonder if it's linked?
Any advise from PR sufferers would be much appreciated
Feeling a bit down. .....

Hi Katie, i just posted a thread "What I did the 1st 2 weeks" I'm at the beginning of week 3. It lists what I did that helped. I was diagnosed one week from vacation (tomorrow) and two weeks before I go back to work. I was a wreck the first 36 hrs. The 40% zinc oxide I used (stopped using cortisone cream 36 hrs after starting) got the rash completely under control in 2 hrs. Buy red box/tube Bordeaux;s Maximum Strength Butt Paste (diaper rash cream) - $8 at Walmart, $4 smaller tube at Target. And Head and Shoulders Clinical strength shampoo. See my post "What I did the first two weeks".
Getting the itching under control and seeing the red rash fade to light pink helped me soooo much in dealing with it. Its not gone yet, but I'm dealing with it later. I havent used moisturizers yet.

Get yourself in the sunshine. Cleared mine up in a week It was amazing the results! Keep trying everything others suggest - you will find something that works for you. Good luck, try not to let it get you down as it will go!

So sorry that you are feeling down. I did too!! I had it for about 5 months. Most cases last from 4-6 weeks. Mine wasn't that itchy. I took vitamins- lysine, oil or oregano, etc. stuff good for skin. I covered my body in desitin at night time. Took cool showers. Stopped exercising. The heat andcsweat made them red and irritated. Sun tanning helped dry them out. Once they started to dry they got a little more itchy. My case regarding the itchiness wasn't bad- it just lasted much longer than I expected. Try your best to lessen the stress. Good luck. There is an end to this. I'll pray for healing!!
