What treatment for anxiety have you tried?  The symptoms of a highly sensitive person are almost identical to anxiety.

Have you talked to a therapist or a doctor about treatment for this?  Maybe talk to them about an anti-depressant or CBT.

    God Bless!

Yes i have had anti dep mirtazapine four years, cant take high dose, too agitated.  Tried cbt but feel so u well its hard to do much. I make myself get out but socialising just too much at the moment.

dr has told me i have anxiety and to drop off mirtazapine. Im still on valium low dose.

some people ger help from pregabalin for anxiety, i am wondering if i should ask dr.

Yeah definitely talk to your doctor about everything you need to.  Don't hold back.  I think you should give CBT another shot.  I know it's hard to do anything, but you need to break out of that to get better.  Us mentally unstable people have to put in extra work to feel happy, but it's rewarding.

      God Bless!

Hi, I read your post and I would like to help but I'm not sure what you're sensitive to? Is it crowds of people or sounds or lights? I could be maybe able to help if I knew just a little more details?

You are in a hard place with your condition, sometimes we have to try and treat the condition in further, inclusive ways without the use of medications. Yes courses to help you relax and accept that most treatments and ways of controlling this condition needs to come down to the sufferer with assistance from the medical profession and your GP Surgery.

You need to be able to divert your attention from the Anxiety you are suffering from, in this way you will learn positive ways to control your fears and concerns. Please understand I am not belittling your condition or fears, what I am trying to explain we need to try and control our conditions as in many cases your GP etc can only help you down the pathway of recovery, it is sad to say up to use to try and take the bull by the horns and fight and understand our condition.

As you know I have had a flare due to my condition and I am also having to push myself to fight my problems caused by chronic conditions. In the past I tried travel writing so now I am trying to take a story in the news and further researching the issues explained to get the full story if that is possible. Whatever I research the concentration I need to impart can control and divert my attention toward other things. Understand I am not saying do the same thing, look forward to an interest that will make you concentrate on more positive things.

Ann consider how you can control your illness to make you more positive in your actions. This can work at least for a period of time as you distract your mood.

Yesterday I was with my Councillor and my depression was very low, the time before I was knocking doors out of windows as I had been doing various pathways of research and looking up places we had visited over the years.

Yesterday I had been researching a pathway that lead me to a negative pathway in world history. Today I am calm as I understand the research from yesterday had informed and confirmed what I knew of the past. This confirmation has helped me to move on a little further

    Good luck, keep well

Hi. I've just been and picked up some beta blockers (propranolol) 10mg for anxiety and panic attacks. I am currently taking 10mg of citalopram (day 21) I had a few good days now right back down. And after a family tragedy last night my anxiety has rocketed today. Still sat here waiting to feel a little different. Have you tried beta blockers before?

No, never had them as havent had panic attacks, only agitation. I wonder if they would work for that.  Gp never mentioned them neither did p.doc.   Do you think i should mention them?  Feel like im climbing the walls here. My anti dep is very low, p.doc told me to stop them but i seem worse.

Maybe just go back and speak to your doctor and you can both decide what's best for you. I wasn't depressed before taking the cit but it has made me very low. Then for me that triggers anxiety which I why I got prescribed it in the first place. I went back to the doctors today for the beta blockers and he has also upped my dosage to 20mg but not sure wether to take them yet or finish the course of 10mg first. I had a bad experience on diazepam so I'm trying to avoid those.

Maybe ask about the beta blockers. They might make you feel less agitated xx

Saw cpn who told me i need to concentrate on cbt.  How i am supposed to,do that when i am so,low i dont know.

i understand where you are coming from with the feeling of being lower starting citalopram, all, these meds make me feel lower  and i end up anxious and agitated. I also know what you mean when you are not sure whether to double dosage as when i did that i was worse.  I am having a bad experience on diazepam now and wish id never been given them.  I will ask gp about beta blockers, i dont have heart palpitations and p.doc hasnt mentioned them so not sure what they will say.  Did you manage to stop diazepam, if so how?

have you tried several medications to try to get better, is your diagnosis depression and anxiety?
