Diarrhoea and sertraline

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi All,

I've been on sertraline for 5 weeks now for anxiety. I started on 25mg and then after two weeks this was upped to 50mg.

About a week ago, I noticed my stools were looser and this has gotten progressively worse to the point where they are now mushy and watery. This has obviously made my anxiety worse which is a shame as it had been really helping up until this point.

My doctor said it is up to me whether to come off or not and initially I decided to stay on but as of today I am coming off as it making me too anxious.

Is it likely to be caused by the sertraline?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

Carl
