Diazapam

Hi does anyone take diazapam I'm taking lorazapam 0.5 twice a day about 8.30 am in the morning and then again 2.30 pm then nothing my doctor gave me diazapam I took half the dose he said and I was out of it I want to take it to get off lorzapam then hopefully wean off that do u think it's best to take before bed then first thing in the morning I had a realy dry mouth all day and felt really giddy and and the giggles and was sleepy but I took it an hour after the lorazapam so I must of over done it I was told to take 5.mg but only took half 2.5mg I'm scared to take it now I have real anxiety and have try 5 different meds but only lorazapam seems to work but he won't up my dose of that he said use the diazapam alongside it can anyone give any feed back or advice please

    Hi Tina - I've been taking diazepam for the last three months. I was switched from lorazapam to diazepam to help me taper off. I was on lorazapam for the last five years and I was trying to only take it when I needed it but it turned out to be almost every day and my dossage was anywhere from 0.5mg to 2mg in a day. It used to work great and knocked out my anxiety but by August of last year I hit tollerance and began to experience withdrawal. I didn't want to go up so this past february I switched to diazepam. I started at 5mg and slowly went down to 1.5mg. Honestly it has never done anything for me as it's a really low dossage. On benzobuddies i've been told that diazepam dows not work for some people. In any case I won't go back to lorazepam. I think most of my anxiety problems right now are still withdrawal from the lorazepam. 

    4 weeks ago my doctor put me on Zoloft and trazadone. We are hoping my anxiety will subside with these AD's and I can get of f of the diazepam get get well.

      Hi paulmar thanks for ur reply I am just going to stick with the lorazapam for now as I can't take the dry mouth off the diazapam it is just making me more anxious and unsettled I have tried 5 different meds so far and side effects from them all lorazapam seems the only thing that works good luck with ur new meds and hope they work for u all the best tina x
