Is disorientation a side effect of diazepam? Was prescribed it this morning, took my first one about 45 minutes ago and now I feel a bit disorientated and woozy

If it's your first time you will feel this way. They give a kind of drunk feeling. I take diazepam but they don't do much for me now but I remember those feekings at the beginning of treatment. Don't drive. Can you stay in for a couple of days until you get used to them.

Do they make you feel less anxious?

Yeah it way very first tablet. I'm not going to be driving. I was going to go out with a friend this afternoon as the doctor said that putting myself in social situations is battling it head on.

Yeah drunk is the feeling. Does this wear off?

9Ok so it's for social anxiety, may as well go out then face your fears. The drunk feeling is at the beginning of treatment. It should only last a couple of hours.

Are they 2mg (white) or 5mg (yellow)

It's a mild dose, good luck in overcoming your social anxiety. Some day you will socialise without medication.

Don't get too hung up about the addictive nature of diazepam, they are addictive but if taken as directed by your GP you will be fine.

They are the weakest of benzo's and if used correctly you won't get addicted.

Yes very normal, just makes u feel mellow, doesn't last long tho, but does help with, anxiety that's all I take as and when needed, not on a reg basis, but try not to rely on them tho, also try helping yourself ☺

There are things you can do to try and help yourself I know about being anxious, but there are things you can do to take your mind of it, and obviously use meds if you need to .
