can I take diazepam the morning after a night of drinking to control the withdrawal symptoms? I'm not taking it along with alcohol. I would take 4mg the next morning and every few hours that next day to control withdrawal symptoms.

can you provide more detailed info. Is the diazapam prescribed to help with withdrawal symptoms whilst detoxing from alcohol?

If you know in advance and are planning to avoid withdrawals, its premeditated and i dont understand why you would drink?

I am not medically trained, but i know what withdrawals are like and have drank purely to help with them. The painful and distressing symptons are often why people give in and drink.

How much do you drink daily? I would guess a fair amount, if you are that desparate for alcohol. I find it odd that you would go to such lengths just for a night out.

Its like you are planning self distruction in advance. i dont understand without more info and wonder if this is a real post. Sorry

Quite simply, none of us here are medically trained so we cannot give you any advise about dosing or how to use your medication.

You need to ask the physician who prescribed it to you.

hi Vicky, Diazepam is a benzo, while it is used to treat withdrawal symptoms you SHOULD NOT BE SELF MEDICATING using this drug, mixed with alcohol it is really dangerous, just because you are not taking it at the same time as alcohol does not mean it is not mixing with the alcohol in your system - DO NOT USE IT UNLESS YOU ARE UNDER MEDICAL SUPERVISION -
