Diazepam withdrawal

Hi,

I have been taking Diazepam daily for over a year for an anxiety disorder. I was first prescribed it by the doctor but I was told it was only for only for short term use. After years of alcohol abuse to stop my anxiety id finally found a drug that keeps me relaxed and feeling normal.

But after a few weeks they stopped giving it me so once again after a bad panic attacks I turned back to alcohol. But then I found a website that sold diazepam which I was a bit jubious about but I didn't want to drink any more so I ordered some. They arrived 3 days later in 10mg form and we're the real deal. I feel that taking Diazepam is a lot safer and healthier than heavy drinking. After starting taking Diazepam my life improved dramatically I got a job , I can socialise without alcohol , life was good.

But now I am in bad Diazepam withdrawal and have turned to alcohol after the company I by tablets from messed up my order and sent me Zopiclone accidentally instead of Diazepam of which I have run out of. I don't know wether to keep drinking until I can get some more diazepam or try the zopiclone to help withthe withdrawal. Any advice please?

First off stop drinking. Second get yourself a psychiatrist. Explain wats going on. Tell them everything dnt leave anything out. They will give you the proper anxiety meds. Gp's cant really give u that med for a long period of time. Im sure they didnt even wean you off it correctly, thats y u felt the need to drink again. I understand a long time ago i worked in a club and i had to dance a bit but was so shy i couldnt some girls gave me coke bad idea but it made me social etc so i understand. With a benzo or pretty much most meds u need 2 b weaned off or u can get bad side effects in ur brain. Oh bcareful of online drugs they might look the same and ur brain is tricked to think they r so it seems like its working but its dangerous and highly illegal. Please go see a specialist it would b best.

How do you tell someone addicted to alcohol to stop drinking, Aja? It isn't that easy. If it was, AA and Alcohol Treatment Centres wouldn't exist, would they?

It isn't at all easy to come off things you get addicted to. And a lot of psychiatrists are unhelpful.

GPs can and do give correct medication for as long as someone needs it, so I'm not sure where you got that idea from?

I agree that online websites are dangerous, though.

There is something wrong with your keypad, by the way - a lot of letters have been missed out of your message.

Paul, don't let your GP go down too fast or you'll be back where you started. Google The Ashton Method, print it out, and take it to your next appointment.

      love Tess xx
