I HAVE BEEN TAKING DIAZAPAM FOR APPROX 18 MONTHS WHILE GOING THROUGH A HARD TIME. I WENT FROM 2MG A DAY TO 20MG A DAY OVERNIGHT.
IT HAS BEEN GRADUALLY REDUCED AND I AM NOW COPING WITH 5MG ALONG WITH MY VENLAFAXINE AND ZOPLICLONE.
FOOLISHLY I THOUGHT I DIDN'T NEED IT THEN AND STOPPED THEN ALTOGETHER[/color:890d0cf039]....[b:890d0cf039]BIG MISTAKE[/b:890d0cf039].
AFTER ABOUT 4 DAYS I WAS HAVING MOOD SWINGS [/color:890d0cf039]AND BECOMING REALLY AGGITATED [/color:890d0cf039]ESPECIALLY WITH CALL CENTRE STAFF  APOLOGIES IF YOU RECEIVED THE WRATH OF MY WITHDRAWL. [/color:890d0cf039]
I DIDNT REALISE HOW MUCH IS WAS SUPRESSING MY EMOTIONS.
MY GP HAS ADVISED THAT HE SHALL CUT IT DOWN VERY GRADUALLY AND THEN PUT ME ON A HOEMOPATHIC REMEDY TO TAKE IT'S PLACE. DONT THINK PEOPLE SHOULD UNDERESTIMATE ITS POWER.
HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED ANTHING SIMILAR?[/color:890d0cf039]

Much better place now.
It's really hard in the first few months, I had really bad panic attacks and all sorts of other problems but I'm really glad I did it.
So if anyone is coming off diazepam please stick with it it's worth it in the end. I came off mirtazapine too at the same time because they made me fat, I've got my old weight back now and I feel great....

It is recommended that if you are considering withdrawing Diazepam, the reducing dosage is 1mg per month. Hope this helps.
