Did he have herpes

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been seeing a guy for a few weeks now and recently was giving him head and noticed two white dots (they looked a bit like ingrown hairs) off to the side of the shaft of his penis.

He says he doesnt have herpes but those two dots really freaked me out.

We didnt have sex but before I noticed this he did give me head and then I gave him head and I am worried that as our mouths touced inbetween or perhaps his hand touched the potential sore that he could have spread the virus to me.

What are the chances of this?

Best advice is do not have any type of sex with anyone without a condom, love yourself enough please...even after being married for thirteen years you never really know who in infected with an STD... if you're planning to have a serious monogamous relationship with someone both parties should be tested this way you don't get terrible condition that can destroy your life

I would hope that he wouldnt deny that type of thing from you .. That is something serious ...

Your best bet would be to just wait it out and see if you have any potential problems with sores or something in or around your mouth. .. And as soon as you notice anything weird or different get it checked out .

Was the two dots like blisters like ? Filled with yellow substance or anything ?

The main ones are red open sores or blisters fllled with substance ..

Was it ON his penis ? If so that's a little weird and nerve racking at the same time .

It's good you didn't have sex with him tho ... Always be safe .

Its kind of hard to be safe if you are giving oral sex that's one of the main things I don't do unless I'm in a relationship ..

Just keep calm and wait things out .

      Thank you for the response!

No they weren't really raised they looked like ingrown hairs but I read that herpes blisters can sometimes look like that.

They weren't on the penis, probably an inch up and to the left, but again I heard that herpes blisters can also form around the genitals not necessarily on them right?

I am mostly worried about contracting GH (HSV-2), I am almost certain I already have HSV1 as everyone else in my family gets cold sores although I never have and was recentlly tested for everything and it came back negative. It could still be possible to get it even without actual sex right?

Yes you can get it without actual sex. Hsv2 can be contracted from sexual contact skin to skin. Not necessarily his penis goinginside of you. sores coukd be around his groin area, and touch your labias, and then you can get it.

As above, always be careful and always use condoms no matter what. i dont care how much you love the person. and always get tested, and have the guy get tested too. You nay get a false negative test because a sore has dried up, but you can alwas get retested as well

But there has to be skin to skin contact?

Can I not get it if I touched it with my mouth somehow and then kissed him and then he gave me head?

Get tested for both either way. If he has it down there and you gave him oral, there is a possibility.

Just like a person with Hsv2 can have sex with someone with a condom, and the other person can still get it

      Thank you for the info!

How long do you have to wait before you get tested?

Do you have to have an outbreak to get a definitive answer ?

      Your welcome!!

If you have an outbreak, you can get a swab test on the culture to see what it is. If you have no outbreak at all, then you can go to a doctor and explain to them everything you just told me and they can do certain tests.

Some people have no outbreak and never know they have something until they have one. Or just to be sure, before/after a new partner, you should and can always get tested, you just couldn't have a culture test with no outbreak. Ask for a blood test since you think the male may have something

The odds are slim in your example.

Would I be getting prodrom symptoms?

I feel like tingling beside my mouth do you think it could be HSV?

First, those bumps you noticed may not be herpes. Second, a certain amount of virus needs to pass in order to cause infection, and the odds of you getting it from him on your mouth then passing it back to his mouth to pass to your genitals is highly unlikely. As for your mouth, hsv2 rarely infects the oral region, and genital hsv1 doesn't shed that often. Tingling is more common with recurrences.

Thank you so much for the information it has really put my mind to rest.

I will still get tested in several weeks if I don't get any symptoms but this has really calmed me down.

Many thanks again for the help!
