Did I stop Sertraline too soon?

Posted , 6 users are following.

This time last year, i started my journey on 50mg of sertraline for anxiety for about 6 weeks i had terrible side effect, i couldnt eat, increased anxiety, fatigue to name a few.

Anyway after about 3/4 months i began to feel tones better the grey cloud had been lifted. chatting to my gp regularly he agreed i could ween off after 6 months.

well after a slow ween off i took my last tablet about a month and a half ago and this last week my anxiety is back and im feeling back to square one, did i stop too soon? if i start again will i experience awful side effects again? I just dont no what's triggered it again

if it's been a month and a half then it might be an idea to go back on them as you may have come off too soon. it's hard to tell. if you keep getting worse and dont see an improvement I'd say go back on them.

if you slowly improve it may be withdrawals it's hard to tell as everyone is different.

this is a rebound hopefully it will sort it self out soon enough when your body gets used to it failing that you could look at certain foods that help with serotonin to try and boost the levels naturally.

sometimes people are fine other times they use ads for years and years because of the rebound. one thing for sure is if the situation or whatever triggeted it all in the first place is not addressed it will come back

This sounds a lot like my journey. After a shocking 12 weeks of side effects the zoloft finally kicked in and i felt a lot better. My doctor also said i only needed to be on zoloft for 9 months so i did a slow wean and have been off 2 months.

I have some very bad days and nights. Not quite bad to how i was before Z but can feel im heading that way.

But as someone said on here, you need ti chsnge your life situation as well and i am still living a lifestyle that is not good for me and i have to change that otherwise im going to be headed straight back on zoloft.

So i do think there will still be bad "withdrawal" days, there are other factors too.

But do take supplements like magnesium, vit D, C, E and fish oil, B Complex and B12.

    im sure it all helps.

keep going each day. but do accept the bad days along with the good. it helps
