Did your eye floaters go away?

Hi all,
A question for anyone who has developed eye floaters thanks to this jerk of a virus - did they go away? I've had my eyes looked at by an optometrist and apparently my eyes are functioning fine, but she was a bit vague in terms of whether or not they'll resolve.
They're more annoying than anything else, but I'm still hoping I won't have to live with them for good 😦
Thanks in advance for any responses 😃

Thanks Katelyn - i've been juicing with carrots and other veg so hopefully that will help. Were your eyes quite irritated? Mine feel very fatigued 😦

Unfortunately for me, they did not. I've just grown accustomed to it. once you feel better, you won't notice it as much. Your senses are so heightened right now that you are noticing everything.

Hi Jen,
That's very true, I notice absolutely every change at the moment and promptly freak out about each and every one...the anxiety clouds everything else and intensifies it all. Horrible!

I really empathise with that being so aware and freaked out about every change Emma, it's a horrible experience to go through. Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you and to reassure you that your confidence and resilience will return as things get better over time, they really will.

Hi Emma,
Although it wasn't something that affected me when I went through the virus, I've been on this forum for a few years and I've read MANY people talk about eye floaters - it seems as though it can be very common for sure. And I've also read many people talk about them getting better too as things got better for them - so it seems like this is a horrible symptom of the virus but that it is definitely something that will get better - I hope and pray this settles down for you very soon, it must be so frustrating.
You've done all the right things getting checked out by optometrist, that's a good sign that everything seems okay but I can only imagine so frustrating getting these symptoms. Maybe worth looking into vitamins and herbs that might help, a B complex vitamin or herbs that help the nervous system could be worth taking, these can have a power of benefit during recovery from this virus - but always check for any interactions with other conditions / medication before starting vitamins of course and do your own research too and get advice from the right people (a herbal doctor / specialist can be good).
Thinking of you Emma and hoping for a better weekend ahead for you. I'm still fully believe that you are going to get through this time and get well again with God's help. Hang in there.

Thank you Craig - you're such a great sounding board with so many of these things, it's always a comfort to hear others have experience the weirder symptoms too. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Thanks Emma, I hope that you can have a nice or at least settled weekend too. All the symptoms of this virus weight you down I know, it's so hard to stay strong and positive throughout it all and to see light at the end of the tunnel sometimes. But believe me there is Emma, it can take a little time but there is full recovery with this virus for the vast vast majority of people - so hang in there, and remember you're not on your own in this. I believe that God is working on your healing right now and even if the manifestations are not seen at the moment, they will be.

Hi Emma,
I got mono just over a year ago & suffered with black eye floaters which were worse when I went outside. I visited my optician who couldn't see anything & put it down to inflammation from the virus. Mine have recently gone but it took around 11 months before this happened. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hi Gill,
Thank you - I really needed to hear that today as after 2 decent days i'm back to struggling with brain fog, anxiety and pins and needles in one hand. Ugh, this virus. I'm back to see the doctor on Tuesday as i'd like to follow up on the neurological symptoms and also the anxiety - i've never experienced health anxiety before this virus but now it's out of control. It doesn't help that everytime one symptom goes away, another one pops up to take its place 😦

Hi Emma,
I hope you get on okay at the doctors tomorrow, oh I know how awful and wearying it is going to doctors and not always feeling like you are getting the right help or answers. It can be so draining Emma and just wanted you to know I am still thinking about you, and to reassure you again that ALL the symptoms of this virus eventually die off and not to try not to panic when getting different symptoms - I had various neurological type symptoms also when going through the virus and I also got myself so stressed and worried about it all - it's so hard not to get yourself worked up about it all, but keep in mind Emma that these symptoms and this experience is very normal when going through the virus and that eventually it all goes away. I know that doesn't always help much at the time when in the midst of the awful symptoms and feeling horrible, but truly there will be better days and recovery ahead Emma - 100% I believe that to be the case given my own recovery experience after struggling badly for an extended period with it and reading the recovery stories of many others who went through hell with this virus but got back to full health again with time.
God will get you through it, I am believing that and thinking about you. Let us know how you get on at the doctors Emma and hang in there. Get some rest and if you can do something relaxing to take your mind off it today, even if that's just listening to or watching something you enjoy.

Hi Emma,
I know what you are going through as I went through the same thing. So many symptoms & bad days can bring on anxiety. I suffered with it a lot & visited my doctor for reassurance many times. My experience was the 1st 3 months were the worst, after 6 months I was 95% better but had post viral symptoms & swollen glands in my neck. Between 6-12 months each month I got stronger & felt more positive, the lingering symptoms disappeared, my energy returned & I began to feel normal again. Everyone recovers at different rates & it's a difficult time for sure.
I remember how lovely Craig & others were when I was feeling low & their positivity & support helped me. I like to visit when I can to help others as I know how difficult it is, feel free to message any time.
You will feel better soon Emma, keep yourself well rested & hydrated xx

Hi Gill,
This forum is such a huge help - I'd be going even more insane if I hadn't found it. It's just comforting even to go through old posts and see how many people have experienced similar things (given how the official medical summaries don't include the vast majority of weird symptoms, or even an acknowledgement that the virus can take a damn lot longer than 4-6 weeks to get over!).
Thank you for taking the time to message, it's very comforting x

Thank you Craig - this forum is such a huge resource and support, I'd be lost without it! The panic is awful and just pops its head up out of nowhere half the time (or when I've been Googling, which is a terrible habit and I really need to stop). I think i'm partially in shock because I always thought G.F was so straightforward - not something that could flip your life on its head. I know better now!
Thank you as always for your kindness, you give so much comfort to so many people here.

Thanks so much for your kind words Gill, I really loved reading your wise word about recovery. Your experiencing and time scale with it all was so similar to mine, and believe me Gill you will keep getting stronger from here - Year 2 in my experience is one of breakthrough, peace and healing and real liberation!
I'm still been facing challenges unfortunately, been bothered with foot pain and hip pain which has been getting me down lately as been struggling to do walks and be active like I enjoy - any prayers for me gratefully appreciated at this time as been finding it hard.
Thanks for all your encouragement Gill and I'm still fully believing that 100% recovery is working in your life and is going to be seen over the coming period.

Oh I know Emma I was exactly the same - my doctor told me I would be better within 6 weeks from GF and I thought well that's a blow but it's good to know that it will get better - it is frustrating that doctors and medical people often don't have a grasp on this thing. The panic and worry was overwhelming for me too, and I also did the whole googling thing and it's normal and natural and so hard not to do I know - but remember it's always the scare stories of the less than 1% who have additional problems or complications that you find on there, the 99%+ who get better with time from this tend not to post!
Just want to reassure once again Emma that better times are ahead - it's so hard not having a timescale for recovery, I'm having the same issue with foot pain at the moment and just not knowing if / when it will get better and it is very frightening and discouraging. But I believe there is recovery for you and for us all Emma - thinking about you and hoping today can be a good day. Message any time! Jesus is our man, He's the healer and I believe He's going to bring EVERYONE on this forum through their difficulties, including you Emma and everyone reading this!
