Did your shadow/curtain go away after Retinal Detachment Surgery

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hello all. I had retinal detachment surgery a week ago. Scleral buckling was the surgery and no gas or oil was needed. (No positing for me thankfully!). A curtain/shadow had developed in my peripheral vision which signalled the trip to the doctor.

Despite my eye currently looking like I went a round with Muhammad Ali, my vision improved dramatically over the space of days since the surgery.

In the past couple of days as it improved I became aware that the curtain/shadow is still there in the periphery. Anyone else who had surgery, did your curtain remain or did it go away? I'm due a follow up appointment next week but curious as to whether the curtain is now a permanent feature of my vision.
