Didn't realise probiotics had to be refrigerated. Can I still use them?

I bought some high strength probiotics 10 months ago, opened them and didn't take the for a while. I decided to start taking them again and just read the small print which says "refrigerate after opening" (silly of me redface)

They've been stored in the cupboard for 10 months, but don't expire till 2019. Would it benefit me to still take them or is the bacteria dead?

Hi , it looks as if they will be ok if you've not opened them and they're still in date.

It always is better to keep dairy products chilled. If you had not opened the contained the shelf life would be ok. Personally you have opened the container and that would cause the culture time to do off or not be effective.

I would buy fresh and take it all when open over a short time period.

If you buy the stuff, keep sealed and cool the date on the container comes into force then
