Diet

Hey guys

My LS has been rubbish for the last 7 months. It comes and goes, but I virtually always have raw areas or slits, or these red bumps and vague white patches. At the moment I can see its easing off and I have stopped using my cream as I feel like I'm letting the skin breath and it seems to be getting better - do u think that's just coincidence with the flare easing away or because I'm letting the sores and bumps breath?

Also I keep reading about diet. I'm vegetarian and currently trying the 30 day vegan plan, but I'm still eating gluten and sugar in fruit .. Do u guys advise against this?

Xxxx

Hi, I also am a vegetarian and was on no medication. After 3 years of changing soaps, toothpastes,  etc, I took a look at my diet after the doctors said it was an auto immune.I found my body developed an alergy toward almonds.  I have the LS and LP flare up like I can't discribe if I even eat 1 almond.  I now do not eat any tree nuts and can honestly say there are no problems. Process of illimination.    As of date after 63 years, I developed my first allergy.

    Hi Jade,

I don't use any medication as it really irritates me and even the emu oil etc doesn't seem to agree with me. I have (so far) had great results from changing my diet. I am also a vegetarian but have  (about 90%  of the time) cut  out sugar, dairy and gluten. If I indulge it can irritate a bit but soon goes again when i stick to being good. I also found bleach free loo toilet to help! Good luck, hope it works for you too xx

A gluten free diet has helped me, as well as cutting out sugar.  My LS also reacts strongly to eating cheese.  It's a game of illimination to see what foods are the triggers for you.

The baking soda rinses and baths are an important thing as well.  Not only soothing, but somehow also making things better down there.  That in combo with coconut oil, sometimes emu oil.  Again, a matter of testing things to see whether it works for you.

Next is then my mostly alkaline diet.  Has made a difference as well.  It's just that all these items combined that make my living with LS more comfortable.

I already cut out gluten but I think I'm going to try to juice for a week then add foods one at a time to see if there is a difference
