    Hi Julie,

I was diagnosed with intestinal metaplasia (Barrett's) in June of 2017, Prior to my diagnosis I had had GERD like symptoms for about 3 years.

Small meals helped my situation and not eating anything 3 hours before bed made the biggest difference for me.

I also was aware of certain foods that triggered my GERD, for example onions, and avoid eating then after 6pm.

Foods that seem to not trigger GERD symptoms (at least for me) are plain yogurt, ocean fish, unsalted or lightly salted nuts, wild blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and such, black beans, and most raw vegetables cooked from fresh. Flax and quinoa bread does not cause me a lot of problems as well. All these foods I eat in moderation and my last small meal is usually 7PM. Water intake is important.

I wish you well and hope this helps.
