Diet change helps lichen sclerosis

Posted , 44 users are following.

I’ve suffered with vaginal lichen sclerosis for over 35 years. I’ve tried everything from emu oil , to borax to prp. I’ve changed my diet and it has changed my life dramatically. Not one EXPERT suggested this. I no longer have soak in borax or lay with ice packs. My lesions that went unheard for 6 months healed in 5 weeks and itching is minimal . If you are desperate and I was change your diet: no gluten, no dairy, no no no sugar / carbs. For the first time in 35+ years I’m healed and minimal itching.

wow .... I have felt so over whelmed and at a loss. my diagnoses has brought me to wonder if my thyroid issue, and weight issue have all been auto immune related. I am on the same doses of thyroid as someone with out a thyroid all though mine is still intact. about 5 years ago I has scaley skin on my eye lids dermatologist said not eczema or psoriasis... did allergy testing with very interesting outcomes....not much I didn't already know except I was not lactose intolerant as thought but deathly allergic to all animal milk products. did 5 weeks of nothing I mean nothing but brown rice n butter all I could eat, lost 15 lbs. then gradually add other foods back in...before this I did 100 days no gluten or sugar lost 2 lbs hahaa...my dad died of Ling term effect of sojerns so autoimmune disease is not foreign to me. but it is a different shoe when it is on one's own foot. thank you for the encouragement because I know I am no longer alone with this and after reading remarks about 30 plus years of living with it I know there is hope...

    Hi Marci,

My story is very similar!! Seven years ago I was diagnosed and I was determined to find a natural way out of it. I completely changed my diet and within 6 months it was gone. It is absolutely the best way to treat it.

    Thanks for letting me share.

    Hey Marci,

When you say no gluten and no sugar, do you mean also no oat gluten or rice starch? There's natural sugar in things like fruits and potatoes. None of that either? I tried staying off of all gluten and was sick in two days. No energy, stomach pain, couldn't work eating only veggies and meats. Dairy doesn't seem to bother me at all. Asked the dr I've been seeing for awhile and she said she didn't think gluten was my problem. Thank for the suggestions. Glad YOU are better but what do you eat?

My mother suffers terribly with LS says she continues to always feel the LS and is always incredibly itchy and very sore!! When it comes to the Internet it's very confusing about what foods should be consumed an my mother is very apprehensive as to what she should be eating to help with the LS. You've done incredibly well with managing your symptoms would you be able to help with what you eat on a continuous basis as steroid creams an ointment don't seem to help at all and it would be greatly appreciated!
