Diet changes help

I've had LS for about a year now. My gyn doc said it was auto-immunity caused. Add another to the list, sucks. Anyway, since it is auto-immune I've noticed when I break the healthy eating (my FMD put me on in 2014), every time I have a gluten product the LS really acts up and gets worse. So at first had all the itching, burning white spots, tightness, etc. I completely stayed with the healthy eating and found a product called Emuaid. Wow! almost immed. I had relief. Cool! so within another day no more itching, burning, etc. even the white spots were gone after about a week or so. Now doing great, so every now and then I would have sourdough toast with ghee and guess what, the itching, dryness, burning comes back. Ok, so I learned for me gluten triggers symptoms in my body and causes LS flares. It's not worth the price of a flare just so I can have a few moments of sourdough pleasure. Bummer.
I did read the post on the olive oil useage, I like it. Thank you so much for sharing it. I will give that a try as this LS has totally ruined the pleasure of intimacy with my husband for me.
So ladies, if you haven't come to the point of doing the elimination of foods to get your auto-immunity under control, I tell you it is so worth it. Is it easy, not for alot of people, that's why many won't do it; but if you will do it, and you can, you will be so glad you did. Find a good natural type doctor who can help you navigate through the elimination/auto-immunity way of eating as well as healing other areas of health. This LS is no fun and as for me if I knew what I know today 20-30 years ago, I would not be going through this. Here's to all the LS sufferes: I pray you all find relief and are able to get your auto-immunity under control naturally so you stay healthy and thrive without all the side-effects that pharma comes with.

Hi Dixie
I seem a naturopath for all over itching I get every now & then that drives me crazy. I asked him if it was an Autoimmune thing, he said no. I think it is tho.
He suggested something called LDA Therapy. It's a shot that goes just under the skin on your arm once a month. So if I have an allergy to something my body will adapt to it & the itching goes away. But have to do it once a month until it works. Could take 6 months, but he said he has great results with it. I wonder if it would get rid of Lichen Sclerosis. I will ask him if I decide to go with therapy. Does Emuaid stink? I tried perrins crème but it stunk to high heaven & got my undies all yellow, but did work. Now I use Borax solution & coconut oil.
Take care

Perrins smells awful! Helped with pain and itching but I smelled like a steak soaked in Merlot! 🤣🤣🤣 Emuaid has a light smell- maybe tee tree oil? Not noticeable to others, and I always use a 100% organic pantyliner everyday to protect cotton panties. 👍🏻

HI
I went on Amazon to find Emu Oil or Cream & found they have a lot of ingredients I can't even pronounce. Is it Cream (someone said it's better doesn't irritate) Or is it oil? It's so expensive I don't want to waste my money on the wrong one.. Is there another website to get it?
Thanks

Yes Karen, it is Emuaid, slight scent of the tea tree oil (because it does use tea tree oil) but you don't notice it when it is on. I use pantyliner to protect panties. It's 48$ for the regular strength and can be bought on Amazon. Jar lasts me about a month or so. Tho expensive I consider it worth it cause it doesn't come with all the side effects of steroids. I also found not eating gluten helps tremendously. Hope this helps and answers your concerns.

Hi Guppy, yes new eating lifestyle is overwhelming when you only have the pieces to the puzzle and cant figure how to put them all together, that's why we need a natural doctor, they can put puzzle pieces together and then it all makes sense to us. It's not easy, but once you can wrap your head and heart around the anti-inflammatory eating lifestyle it does become a way of life and you will fight to keep it cuz it's just not worth eating the foods that hurt your body.

Can you give some more info on changing diet? I am anti steroid cream and currently using coconut oil only as well as taking vitamins and following vegetarian diet. I have seen dairy can flare up excema. How did you begin your diet change?
Thanks xx

Hello Car; well mine is a long story but will give my best to give the readers digest version. was dx'd with Hep C many years ago. went on treatment 2 times which totaled 17 months. 6 months after getting off tx I woke up with hands and feet hurting and feeling like severe water retention. Fast fwd to 2013 when pcp said I was borderline diabetic and they wanted me to go on their meds, I refused and completely changed my diet to all raw (veggies only) for 8 months then added in 1 meal with cooked meat. January 2014 ended up seeing a functional medicine doctor (FMD) who tweaked my diet and started treating me naturally. He got me from feeling like a 92 yo woman who could barely get off the couch and do one chore a day to where I am now. I still have issues but at least I am able to function. Anyway, he put me on a dairy free, gluten free, sugar free, soy free and processed food free diet. So that means no dairy products at all, no flour products at all, absolutely no sugar ( honey, maple syrup, fake sugars, etc) of any kind, no soy products at all. So I now live by a slogan that really helps me to do this. If you can't pick it or if you can't chase it, you don't eat it. Am I perfect?? no. I used to be till I moved away from there and am now in a different place with no support and family (mine and my husbands) that don't offer any real support and often tries to undermine what I need to do cuz they don't understand what it is like to live with auto-immunity issues. Anyway, if there is a way to p.m. with you let me know and I can send you more info if you are really interested in doing this. You will have to have your heart and mind ready to make this a way of life or you will struggle with not eating the bad foods till you have made up your mind. fresh green juicing helps in this area too.
As for the cream: I do not do any pharma meds as they have side effects that are not acceptable to me so I use diet and the emuaid cream. That's it. I read a post from a lady, sorry I did not get her name, but she was very good in sharing about using olive oil several times a day down there. If you can find it read it, it's very good. I'm going to give that a try too, as being as dry as the sahara doesn't make for pleasurable intimacy with ones husband and I think it was her that mentioned that area also improved greatly by the use of the olive oil that she was able to enjoy intimacy with her husband again.

Hi Linda, that's very interesting as LS is an auto-immune malfunction. Hmmm, maybe LS has several different causes. Will have to research that. Try not eating any gluten as that is a huge trigger for me and see if you get any relief. Hoping you feel better soon.

Hi Janie; Awesome job! you sound like you are on the right track to getting this LS under control. your creamer may have some sugar in it as dairy naturally has sugars in it, but if it is that blue crack creamer you buy in the store it def has sugar and other nasty things in it. So you use the extra strength or regular emuaid? I use the regular and have relief, but sometimes it isn't quite enough as I would have eaten something that would have caused a flare up then its miserable for a few days, so if the extra strength helps more so, I may get one to use during those times of flare ups.
