Differences is diagnosis

Hello all,

So I have recently been diagnosed (kind of) with lupus based on my symptoms that I have an my Ana titer of homogeneous 1:160 and speckled 1:80 and markings for inflammation. I have had constant low grade temps for months and the aches in my bones, joints and hands and ankles and toes feel tight but no notcable swelling.  Weakened, fatigued, SOB..and more but I went to the hospital after sweating, difficulty breathing and almost passing out at work.  Anyway, another doctor I see said she doesn't believe that it is lupus "unless I'm in remission."  Has anyone else experienced this? I've dealt with this for years (11 to be exact) and doctors always say it's in my head or I'm trying to get narcotics.. I don't see a rheumatologist until November. And doctors basically said I get to suffer until I see her.

    Hi sasha39116

How on earth have you put up with those symptoms for 11 years without medication?...if your inflammation markers are high then you definitely have an autoimmune illness...have you been tested for dsDNA which is a marker for lupus...although not all lupus sufferers have it....you could have Polymyalgia Rheumatica which i have and have the symptoms you mention........you could take NSAIDS for the pain Ibuprofen will help until you can be medicated properly.....but over time Ibuprofen can cause stomach problems...so take them only when you really need to until you see the rheumy....my best wishes to you...keep us posted....

      Lilian05079,

It hasn't been easy and I have medical bills out the wazoo.  I tried my luck at many doctors along the way and they've all said "take some ibuprofen and put ice on it" never works.  But I have tried NSAIDs so often I was actually urinating blood from taking them so much and a precious doctkr brushed it off and said it was my period!!  About the dsDNA, I don't think she Doctor I went to got that far. She was adamant I have lupus but tested for so many things. I had a few red flags and is sending me a rheumatologist next month. I wish it was sooner. What actually got me started was because I went to donate at my job and one of my tests came back with RPR reactive but confirmatory negative. So then I knew something was wrong.

I have never heard of Polymyalgia Rheumatica but I'll research that.  And thank you for the response and kind words smile
