Hi There
I have had problems in the past with a bulging disc.that caused sciatic pain .I have been lucky and have only had two episodes where i had awful pain since in the last 20 years they only lasted maybe a week or so.yesterday i started getting a nerve pain in thetop of right buttock even just touching skin was painful on a scale of one to ten maybe a 6 so bearable .during the night i have now got pain from buttock down thigh into back of knee and tingling in the foot when i got up i am now unable to walk properly on that leg.The strange thing is there is no pain in back and the pain is no way as bad as i have had in the past my worry is i have a leg that is not working properly especially back of knee keeps giving way? is this sciatica?

Pain in your butt and then down the back of your leg? Sure sounds like it. I've had sciatica many, many times over the years...always fixed very quickly by a chiropractor. But you already know that the problem originates in your spine. I had that happen one time only. A bone spur was crushing my sciatic nerve root at L4. Solved by a simple laminectomy at L4/L5. I'd see a neurosurgeon and get that fixed ASAP....
