Different size tonsils, one with dangly lump, swollen lymph node

Hi all,

I have had swollen tonsils for years after having tonsillitis a lot as a kid. A few months ago I noticed a swollen lymph node on my neck but no other problems. Recently a doctor said to me about my tonsils been large and one is bigger than the other. I also have a dangly little lump on one that looks like a piece of tonsil hanging off.

My GP said it was nothing to worry about but is going to send me to an ENT just in case.

Just wondering has anyone had anything similar or how concerned I should be about all this.

I haven't had any issues with tonsils, but I have had swollen lymph nodes on my heck/neck area for 5+ months now. Saw my reg Dr, ENT, dermo and now an oncologist a week ago. All of them said they seem to be skin related (my acne or scalp dermatitis causing them to swell up). Basically from what I've been told by the above drs, as long as the lymph nodes are all small (less than 2 cm), they are nothing to worry about. Even if you have 8 swollen nodes on your neck for months, as long as they are small and normal, it is not worrisome. My Drs all suggested I just wait it out, come back for a check up every 4 months. It seems like they can swell for a lotttt of reasons, whether it's something obvious like a cold or flu or even apparently just bad acne lol. So I would think your tonsil issues is definitelyyy related and it will probably un-swell when your tonsils are back to normal.
