I am from Down Under. Australia. Where we do and say things a little different to you guys up there.
I use a drug called Endone as just one example. Do you have the same drug and do you understand what it is.

In the UK almost all drugs are referred to by their substance name which is the same wherever you are.
Endone is oxycodone, an opiod painkiller.

Thanks EileenH, I have oxycodone for my damaged hip, but do not use it for my PMR. Only use Prednisone to control my PMR inflammation.

I have yet to meet anyone for whom opiod painkillers work for PMR pain.

Hello I'm in Queensland I use Endone and Tramadol this helps me with GCA, PMR and Fibromalgia if I did not use these drug I reackon I would not get through. I can tell the difference between flares I am currently on 9 mg pred went to 8 for three weeks body showed flare signs slight head soreness fatigue hands I've been on this roller coaster near 3 years. I know a lot on hear do not like using opiod pain killers but if I get hooked on this so be it I'd rather get hooked than spend my time laying around putting up with pain that I do not have to. I have been getting serious chronic leg pain for 6 months I was taken of Lipitor 1 week I can feel a slight change with my legs going to try this for 6 weeks so far I'm liking the change. Happy Easter to all.

Known in New Zealand as - Oxycodone is used for the relief of moderate to severe pain such as after an injury, or operation or pain caused by a terminal illness such as cancer. It is usually used when other milder painkillers such as paracetamol or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) donโt work well enough. Oxycodone belongs to a group of medicines called opioid painkillers. They act on your brain and nervous system to reduce pain.

Can it be taken with steroids ? I have made it this long without, so I will probably soldier on, but for a special occasion it would be good to actually have a pain free day. I have anti depressants so I don't feel so depressed about the pain I suffer when I do the things I love to do. I am in NZ , but have never heard about this drug

In many places there has been a crackdown on prescribing opioids so you may or may not be able to talk a doctor into providing them for you.

Fluttbie, I was prescribed Oxycodone while on Prednisone when I damaged my hip, last summer. It did seem to have any effect on my PMR, but did help with my hip pain. Good luck ๐

Flutterbie, Endone is Oxycodone. An opiod. I know people with fibro who find Tramadol helps.
