Hello
?I am new to this site
?i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 4 years ago
?i suffer with the normal symptoms - pain, fatigue, headaches, blurred vision, titinus, painful/swollen hands and wrists and painful feet especially in the ankles.
?Resently i have been having problems with my breathing, my chest is tight like sompone is pressing down on my chest or my lungs wont fully fill with air
?it is actually worse when i am sitting down, it feels like something the size of a football is wedge inbetween my breast bone
?Does anyone else suffer from this, is it just another fibromyalgia symptom?

Hiya sarah, i have trouble with tight chest and what feels like i'm not getting enough air in the lungs. you are not alone, as far as i can gather it's the muscles in the chest wall constrincting making it feel like you can't breath properly, i had an ambulance out at 1 point who checked my blood oxigen levels and they were normal, i had a lung function test that was also normal so just another wierd and not so wonderful fibro symptom.

Itve had it checked out at the doctors who said it was nothing, had to go for the breath flow test and do a daily check at home for 2 weeks but everything came back normal.
It is very uncomfortable but i guess it is something else i will just get use to.

well it's good you had it checked, if nothing else it's peace of mind, but i find when i get breathless, now i had it checked i don't panic about it as much which makes it easier to deal with.
but yeah just something else to add to the list.

Hi
I'm dealing with this now when I went to er and received a shot for inflammation they recommended talking to my daughter about meds to assist with that. I get soma to relax muscles. It lasts for months. A friend of mine who has this just told me tonight all the meds causes has and that I should go on gas x I may try it ya never no. Sadly this issue is a nightmare I'm hoping I'm not in hospital tonight ugh! Feel better klonopin helps relax me so I'm not focused on breathing and I have a heating pad on my ribs and stomach and it helps
