Digestive Issues

I an 52 and still having regular periods although they are getting much lighter the last 6 months.

i have high anxiety, joint pains, wake in the early hours and can't get back to sleep, loss of appetite probably due to the anxiety.

my main issue at the moment is loose BM's in the mornings. Full of wind when i wake up and need to go soon after. Some days are worse than others. Does anyone else have this issue?

i am nit on HRT at the moment. Still undecided if i want to go down that route or struggle on naturally

I actually have the opposite issue: severe constipation. I have had to resort to taking stool softeners, as well as rectal laxatives and enemas. I have never had this issue in my life until perimenopause. I incorporate all of lifestyle choices that should promote regular bowel movements: exercise, lots of water, lots of fibre, but they haven't had any effect at all. I am now taking a probiotic specifically for IBS to see if that might work. I also have horrible trapped gas, as well as bloating to the point where I look like I'm about to give birth. It is uncomfortable and unwelcome, but I just try to manage it the best way that I can.

Yeah, I had a lot of wind and burping trouble for many months. Improved on HRT but still flares up from time to time. My bowels have always varied a lot with my cycle anyway but now the cycle is all over the place I never know what's going to happen from day to day.
