Digestive issues - anyone else???
Posted , 6 users are following.
Does anyone suffer with periodic issues with their tummy and digestion? I am on Elleste Duet and find that when I get to the last 8 or so of the white pills my tummy is definitely more sensitive - I can feel nauseous and bloated and my bowels are looser one day and then constipated the next. It scares me so much and I feel ghastly. I've discussed with my GP who is very supportive and says digestive issues ate common in menopause. But while this is reassuring, my health anxiety goes into over drive.
Just feel alone and scared. Any tips or fellow sufferers out there would be appreciated.

Hi Hilary,
Yes!! Digestive issues are one of my biggest problems right now.
Sometimes very constipated.
Sometimes the opposite.
Nauseous in the mornings, but usually better by afternoon.
Bloat that comes out of seemingly nowhere and is very painful... middle if the day, middle of the night, no rhyme or reason I can find.
Both situations are completely miserable, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it under control.
And it makes me drained, like I have the flu 24/7/365. "Ghastly" ... you picked a perfect word for it.
I assume I have developed some food intolerances, but can't narrow down to what. So far I have eliminated gluten and dairy, and going through an adjustment period to that. Am eating more fresh fruits and veg (yay) and less processed/preservatives/sugars but definitely have more loose stool and gas (sorry if tmi) while my body gets used to it I guess?
You are right, it's somewhat scary, and Kind of isolating for sure... who wants to be social when in such discomfort?
Did your GP recommend anything?
Take care and hope you get sorted soon,
Sara

You have described my symptoms perfectly. It's so debilitating. But reassuring to know we are not alone.
My GP suggested looking at diet and yoga/pilates type stretching (in addition to the gym which I try to do). I find acupressure and massage points help and i have a shakti mat, which is good.
Will definitely look at your food suggestions too. And I have just started a supplement designed to support gut health.
I wish I had a wand to magic these issues away.

Ooh, speaking of gut health, a kind member here called hopeforever also recommends drinking bone broth. I just picked up some at the grocery today, and plan to try that too, starting every couple of days maybe.Sip it by itself if tummy is questionable... or use as a base for a healthy soup if feeling decent.

Hi Sara, many thanks. Yes bone broth decreases inflammation in the gut . I also recommend a daily probiotc and staying away from foods that don't agree with you. If you want a good flush, toilet run, juice one glass of beets and drink it. I do this every 3 days. Hope this helps.

Greetings To All!
Digestive issues are what I am dealing with right now! I really can't complain as I would rather deal with this then the racing heart, heightened panic attacks, insomnia, renegade thoughts, twinges in my head, etc. I have never had any issues like gas or heartburn so this is super uncomfortable! I mean it is so bad at times that it feels like it is in my chest and gives me shortness of breath! I mean my bra becomes uncomfortable because it feels like it added pressure in the center of my chest! SMH! Wheeewwww and Woooosssaaaa!!! I take deep breaths, exercise, strive hard not to let my mind take me somewhere so that I become more anxious and start thinking this is something worse! If that's the case I would be at the ER every second like I was when this whole thing first started! I have tried to stop eating certain things like dairy and gluten thinking maybe that is it but it happens regardless to what I eat! I am a very healthy, clean eater any way so that makes me a little frustrated! Hopefully this phase will end soon! This too shall pass!

I am sorry to read that you are facing this horrible set of symptoms too. It is very debilitating. At least we know we are not alone. And it will pass in time. Onwards.
