Diminished appetite on Venlafaxine?

Posted , 4 users are following.

Been on 75 mg’s now for 3 weeks.  Anyone else have a low appetite?   When will it come back to normal?  Some evenings I can eat a bit. Others no.   Daytime is the worst.  I think I would feel much better if I could have my normal appetite back.  I wanted to lose some weight but not this way.

Hi. Don't worry. It will. Your body is just adjusting. Try drinking a protein shake in the morning with your medication. I used to eat eggs, but I've lost my appetite recently, so the Atkins shakes help. Then around 10 am, I feel a little hungry, so I eat an apple and some sliced turkey, maybe a cheese stick. Buy your favorite foods and have them handy. Make yourself eat though because if you get run down and lethargic, that contributes to anxiety. God bless you.

Thanks Tammy!  Great ideas.   And you’re right-if I’m not eating I DO get lethargic & that’s when my anxiety is thru the roof.

      Thanks again.

      God Bless You too.

Yes I’ve heard that from one of my nieces too.  She could barely eat the first few weeks.  Mine is getter better now after 3 weeks on. Anxiety related for sure.

Yes, actually!   My issue is mostly anxiety-which of course can bring me down for sure.  I'm noticing the anxiety is getting better, which makes me MUCH happier.
