You may have more albumin and white blood cells but the best way is for urine to be tested in a laboratory to establish what organism is causing the infection then the appropriate treatment can be prescribed.

I'm pleased you have an appointment but I doubt you've done any damage this time but if it happens again don't leave it so long.

hi  albumin is there something else for  albumin i cant see that on the dip test x

The test will show as white blood cells purple if infection I always take the home test before I go it's it's slight they will send you home and tell you to drink water.

They won't send any patient home to drink water if they have a UTI symptoms for a week. The guidelines are if a patient has had symptoms for 3 days a course of antibiotics have to be prescribed. These guidelines are national and all GP practices have been advised.

Thanks Matron i wouldnt like to think i would get told to drink water, already do that anyway, but i must admit when i called NHS 24 that is what they said to me x

The advice is usually drink water like it's going out of fashion in the first couple of days but if that doesn't do the trick then antibiotics is the next thing. NHS direct should have told you to see your GP if it was over 3 days because as I said they are the guidelines.

i always have protein , and sg and the leuk in urine x

They have sent me home with discomfort and with a negative test, telling me to flush with water and come back if it's worse. You won't die from a uti I have been told but you can risk a kidney infection. There's other things that can trick you thinking you have a uti like a kidney stone.

Well leuk is probably leukocytes which are white blood cells
